Stable Space is a local organization dedicated to bringing experiences with horses to children in urban Indianapolis. Our experiential learning approach helps people gain confidence, uncover new strengths, and develop stronger connections with their community and the world around them.
Horses remind us to come alive and experience life in a deeper and richer way. Our minds often live in the past or future, while horses live in the here and now. The presence of these large, beautiful animals demands our attention and connetion.

Hi! I’m Kathleen.
Our founder, Kathleen Ford, believes horses are for everyone. She was introduced to barn life by her mom, who was always wild about horses but didn’t have consistent access until adulthood. Kathleen is a trained school psychologist and certified equine specialist in mental health and learning through PATH Intl. Her love of community, desire to make the world a safer and more equitable place, and drive to share her passion for horses led her to found Stable Space.
